Life Energy: How does it affect me?

Did you know that an average person gives off about 65 watts of energy just when sitting and resting? This about the same level of energy as standard light bulb gives off.

Science has proven and created equipment to measure the body energy. EKG, EEG or MRI records this electrical activity of the heart and brain. We are a source of energy and when it remains unconscious suppressed within us, it affects the positive influences it could bring into your life.

Everything is energy. Energy cannot be created nor destroyed it just is. When we understand these natural laws of the universe we understand that everything is in motion. Nothing stays still. Ancient religions understood this and developed many practices around the expanding use of life force energy.

Consider the yogic concept of the seven energy centers in the body. These are know as the chakras, as displayed in the image above. We’d like to introduce you to three areas in empowering yourself: Reiki, Chakras & Meditation.

What is Reiki?

REIKI (pronounced “ray-key”) is a Japanese technique for calming, relaxation and reduction of stress that will also promote healing. Reiki is very simple and yet powerful technique that can be easily learned by anyone.

There are many kinds of energy healing modalities. All healing energy is KI or life energy as one of it’s important parts. All healers use life energy but not all use Reiki as it is a special kind of healing that can only be channeled by someone that has been attuned to it.

Life energy responds to thoughts and feelings. When we are positive and optimistic we increase our healthy being. When negative, we become sick. This can happen on the conscious and subconscious level.

When a person receives a Reiki session, the conscious part of the life energy assess where the person needs healing and works on moving the negative energy out of the body. Reiki can work on negative thoughts and feelings which block a healthy body and replaces them with healthy thoughts and feelings thus releasing the block.

What are Chakras?

The word "chakra" is Sanskrit for "spinning wheel," this word refers to a series of energy points that fall on specific parts of the human body. These are associated with physical, mental and emotional health of a person. There are many chakras in the human body but only seven of them constitute the main energy centers. All seven chakras have their own particular color, light and specific number of ‘petals’ or segments around the perimeter of the chakra circle.

The human energy system, are invisible to they eye, and the core seven chakras include the crown chakra, which is located at the top of the head; the third-eye chakra, which is located at the point just above and between the eyebrows; the heart chakra, which is centered on the chest; and the root chakra, which is at the pelvic floor. Each chakra is typically represented by a specific symbol and color. These are the colors we see in the rainbow – violet, indigo, green, yellow, orange, blue and red. Each of these seven chakras vibrates with a specific frequency related to their color.

The decisions we make on how we perceive and respond to conditions in our life, is regulated by chakra vibrations. When our chakras energy is out of balance, it has a profound impact on our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.

When they are out of balance/alignment, both our bodies and our lives are likely to be out of balance as well. We may find that we are illness- or accident-prone, or that our lives are unhappy, unsatisfying, or chaotic. It's not necessary, however, for our chakras to be perfectly, completely balanced, all at the same level of openness and activation. For most people, one or more chakras stand out as being stronger than the others. This is normal and not at all undesirable.

There are many techniques that you yourself can use for chakra balancing. Keep in mind that the way to make any energy-work method effective is to do it mindfully with the intention to heal. In other words, it's the intention rather than the exact method that's important.

Here are some methods for chakra balancing that you might try.

  • Hands-on Energy Healing.. This is traditional using your own bodies energy.
  • Listening to Chakra music
  • Guided Meditation using Healing Visualization Techniques
  • Healing Energy/Reiki Practitioner
  • Sound Therapy with Singing Bowls or Tuning Forks

What will Meditation do for me?
Meditation is the practice of sitting still and breathing in a controlled manner for brief or extended periods of time. While the practice has been around for a millennia, meditation has recently emerged as a popular approach to regulating both physical and mental well being.

Meditation at home

Meditation is proving to have wide appeal due to its calming nature. And now the science is weighing in. What ancient practitioners probably intuitively knew all along, modern science is now beginning to demonstrate. Meditation will have a real impact on your health.
